History of the Grand Hotel Excelsior

The Excelsior Hotel opened in 1927 under the name of Excelsior Palace Regina; in 1954 it was bought by the Lazzerini family who have ever since overseen the management of the hotel with their own brand of taste and family care.  Their desire to retain a strong family identity for the hotel, passed down from father to son, has on numerous occasions led the owners to refuse offers from large hotel chains, who would have standardised the hotel, leading to a loss of its distinctive identity. Clients to this day enjoy the attentive and cordial hospitality, which derives from this independent management.
